Kastalia - Naiad and Muse

Kastalia was a Nymph or Naiad whom Apollo, Son of Zeus and Leto loved. One of many conquests of the Oracular God, Kastalia fled from Apollo and hid in a spring in Delphi at the foot of Mount Parnassos. Apollo when searching for Kastalia turned her into a fountain within which Pythia, the Delphic Oracle would bathe and drink before providing inspiration and prophecy.

In the Roman age, Kastalia was often a synonym for wisdom.

Fact: Kastalia (646 Kastalia) is a minor planet orbiting our Sun and is not be confused with the near-Earth asteroid, 4769 Castalia.

“The ridges of Parnassos quaked, when they heard the noise of their neighbour Phoibos (the Oracle Apollon); Kastalia marked it, and her inspired water bubbled in oracular rills.” Nonnus, Dionysiaca 4.307

So, as you can see the name Kastalia is essentially derived from the Roman synonym for ‘wisdom’ and that’s what the company is all about. We aim to give you, the Client, the best service possible through the accumulation of years of knowledge in differing fields of endeavour.

Managing Director 

Kastalia’s founder is Mark Kemp, a member of the Institute of Directors and the ACCA.  Mark has worked within the Isle of Man’s finance industry since 1994 working for companies such as Hansard International, AXA SunLife, Triskelion Trust Company, Marsh, Willis and Pokerstars.

Mark has extensive knowledge of general accountancy matters, working on both UK GAAP and IFRS accounts and has worked within the Island’s Captive Insurance sector for nine years. Before setting up Kastalia, Mark was the Subsidiaries Finance Manager for Pokerstars, the largest online Poker provider in the World.  At the point of incorporating Kastalia, Mark had acquired some twelve years of experience in managing companies and presenting at Board level.

Mark has a meticulous approach to his work, and he combines this with complete knowledge of the clients needs.
